On March 6, 2018 the Blue Ridge Re-Entry Council hosted an educational summit for individuals, agencies, and organizations involved with assisting those transitioning from incarceration or for anyone interested in positive outcomes for returning citizens. The event was hosted at Central Virginia Community College.
Former Governor Terry McAuliffe joined Governor Ralph Northam on January 8, 2018 to unveil a new brand to unify Virginia’s workforce development system. The system, which includes a network of state and local partners and 62 One Stop Career Centers, will carry the name Virginia Career Works once the brand is fully activated later this year.

The James River Association (JRA), in partnership with the Robert E. Lee and Thomas Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation Districts, will be planning 3,000 trees at farms along various tributaries of the James River this spring!
