The market value of the region’s agricultural products now tops $74 million, a 55% growth over the 2002-2012 time period, with 16% of that growth occurring in the 2007-2012 time period.

The total number of farms in Region 2000 has increased by 5.9% during the 2002-2012 time period, with 1% of that growth occurred during the 2007-2012 time period.

The Region 2000 Local Government Council continues to support the development and growth of the region’s agriculture economy by implementing strategies from the Regional Agricultural Strategic Plan. Currently, the LGC is working with local Extension Agents and local Economic Development officials to determine the feasibility of a Food Hub for Region 2000’s food system.
